A shy revolution sprung out of Venezuela's turbulent political and economic climate at the beginning of April 2017. The young had ignited it. Ignoring opposition leaders, enraged demonstrators burned, trashed and blocked the streets of many cities of the country. Protests bloomed in Caracas like the wild and tropical flora that Venezuela is famous for. Three months later, tired of repression, anarchy and hunger, many returned home, empty-handed. The promise of redemption and a new future was crushed without ceremony by the military boot.
