Andrea Hernandez is a photojournalist and visual storyteller based in Caracas, Venezuela. She is specially interested in Human Rights and health issues.
She was awarded with the Fundación de Nuevo Periodismo Iberoamericano Gabriel García Márquez grant for her multimedia piece on homeless people in Caracas "Looking for Virginia". At the Foundry 2017 Mexico Workshop she was honored with the "Golden Scarf", by the mentors of the workshop. She was also awarded with the Excellence Award of 2017 by the the Sociedad Interamericana de la Prensa for the coverage of food scarcity issues in Venezuela "Dying once and twice of hunger".
She will be attending the Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism Program at the International Center of Photography in New York, United States, until 2018.
